I was personally not happy with this shot. It looked good in my head. But fell apart once I started shooting. And I had no back-up (Won’t happen again!). My class mate said it portrayed a “Gay hammer.” I guess I can agree.
The set up for this shot was very simple. I found some wood in the prop room. Moved the light to the side and over head to make it look “early morning-ish.” Lined the belts up a couple time to space them perfectly. And shot about 30 photos total. It was almost too easy.
I didn’t get the chance to post any sketches for this shoot, but My critique went very well. And it is my personal favorite studio table top shot I’ve done yet.
I wasn’t too happy with my final out come of this shot, but considering the degree of difficulty I was faced with with all the reflections, I can’t complain too much.
I feel like my critique went very well for this shoot. It was for sure a huge challenge to try and match “the masters” perfectly. Most everyone said they liked mine better than the original, haha. So i’m not complaining.
I’m really liking my first sketch idea. I think I can have most creative fun with this topic. I’ll keep as many human elements out of it as I can. The others ideas are the best I can honestly think of without incorporating big human elements. All my other ideas were “dry” and unoriginal.
Next week’s shoot is to mimmic a professional photographers commercial studio shot. We are pushing to be unconventional.
