Next week’s shoot is to mimmic a professional photographers commercial studio shot. We are pushing to be unconventional.

Here is my beautiful dog, Andi.  Yes, she is a girl :)  Taking pictures of her wasn’t easy with all the other dogs around, but it became very easy once she got tired.  This picture didn’t take much editing at all!  She made it easy!

BTW,  The color in all of my pictures look slightly off, here on WordPress.  I think it has to do with the compression that takes place in the uploader.  Visit GavinSexton.com to see my work where this doesn’t happen.

I’ve been so caught up in school that I’ve forgotten about blogging.  O well, I’ll try to get back into this, but it’s the last thing on my mind.

In class the past 2 weeks, I’ve done two photo shoots.  One of my dog, Andi.  And one of my friends twins, Abi and Ali.  Both shoots went well.  I’m still editing the final pictures that I’m going to turn in on on Tuesday.  It’s a tough process, but I have them pretty much nailed down now.  I’m also shooting sports, and feature shots for photojournalism.  I have a good sports shot, but feature is giving me some trouble.  I haven’t found anything really great.

I’ll get it.  I know it

To day I got a new lens, a Tamron SP AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 Di VC USD. I've had my eye on it for a while and finally had an excuse to buy it for my sports assignment. I could decide between Nikons version, or the Tamron. But I'm crazy glad I went with the Tamron. Not only because of price, but image quality, AF speed, and image stabilization. The Tamron far exceeds in these 4 things over the Nikon, surprisingly! Here are some test shots from when I first got the lens in.
